Beyond the game is a new series that I am working on for this channel, with the first half releasing early 2024 and the second half being released when Blind Man plays comes back in the autumn.
I have taken a break from Blind man Plays in order to focus on this website and some of my other work so that when it comes back it, I can do it as part of a longer term plan or project which is the main focus of 2024. So please enjoy the first five episodes of this new show.
EPISODE 1 THE ORIGINAL RESIDENT EVIL.
Back in the 1990s this release was the first of it’s kind on console, although we have had some 3D action horror in the past, never before had we the experience of such terror and onslaught surrounded by an ambiance straight out of the X Files. It can be argued that the original Resident Evil was the beginning of the second great fascination in this horror sub genre, paving the way for games such as left for dead, Silent Hill, Dead Island and many more along with a slew of movies exploring the genre such as 28 days later, Dawn of the dead 2004, land of the dead, diary of the dead and many more.

This is the second episode of my BEYOND THE GAME series, and for this episode I wanted to talk about the Far Cry 6 x Stranger things crossover. Entitled the Vanishing. This was one of those cool little surprises as I had no prior knowledge of the crossover. As I played through the 45 minute campaign I decided to record footage for this video. A lovely hidden Gem
EPISODE 3 THE BEST RETRO GHOSTBUSTERS GAME YOU NEVER PLAYED.
Is New Ghostbusters 2 the best retro ghostbusters game. In 2009 Ghostbusters the video game come out on console and PC and it was an undoubtable the quintessential ghostbusters experience. But are there any other good ones. Well I would argue that the best retro ghostbusters game was New ghostbusters 2 on the NES and in this video I give my arguments as to why. I also talk about ghostbusters 2 on the game boy and how it comes so close to being a good game, but fails due to poor controls.

The X FIles video Game released on Playstation and PC was a full motion video interactive lost episode staring new characters along with regular cast members. Mulder and Scully are missing, An interesting bit of video game history for sure but does it suck? Well here are 8 reasons why The X Files Video game was a brilliant but failed experiment!

In this EPISDOE 5 of BEYOND THE GAME, I team up with my good friend David Humphries (Dai for short) for a dose of nostalgia into what was possibly one of Mario’s best outings and a game in which in our opinion, set the standard for many that would follow it. Not just by Nintendo, but across different platforms.
